Matthew S. Yezierski is a graduate of the University of Houston Law Center where he was an active member of several student groups.  He served on both the Associate Board and the Executive Board of the UHLC Advocates and was also an active member of the UHLC Mock Trial Team competing in nine regional and national tournaments between 2008 and 2011.  Upon graduation, Matt received the K. Byron McCoy Excellence in Advocacy Award for outstanding achievements in advocacy as part of the mock trial team as well as earning an award from the International Academy of Trial Lawyers for displaying superior courtroom skills.  Matt was admitted to the Garland R. Walker American Inn of Court in 2009 and the Order of the Barristers in 2011.

Matt graduated from Stockbridge Valley Central School in upstate New York and then, following in his father’s footsteps, served in the United States Air Force.  While on active duty, Matt worked as a Tactical Aircraft Maintenance Specialist where he worked on F-16 Fighting Falcons and served on the Nellis Air Force Base Honor Guard performing ceremonial and color guard duties at numerous functions.  After leaving the military, Matt earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from the American Intercontinental University, graduating magna cum laude in 2006.  While working towards his Bachelors and his law degree, Matt worked in numerous areas including, construction, retail, management, and security.  He eventually entered the field of genetic research at Lexicon Genetics (now Lexicon Pharmaceuticals) and worked at the Texas A&M Institute for Genomic Medicine during law school before starting his career in legal practice here at Oberti Sullivan LLP.
